About us

I am proud to say I graduated from The Style Academy, formerly known as Richard's Beauty College, in 2013. I completed my Esthetics Course with Educators, Laurel and Heidi. As well as Nail Technology with Carol Scott.

My first day was the greatest day of my life because I got to open the Nail and Esthetics kits for the first time, and it was like a million Christmas' in one! There were so many different oils, lotions, makeup and nail tools to try. That was when I knew I had chosen the right career because I couldn't wait to dive in and get my hands dirty!

I really enjoyed beauty school because I've always been drawn to the idea of having a career in relaxation services and taking care of people. Not to mention, I became addicted to getting my nails done at a very young age. My dad had started taking me to get my nails done every month as a father-daughter bonding activity. So, every month I looked forward to nail day because I always picked the coolest designs, in my opinion. By the time I was in high school I was getting my nails done by the Style Academy's very own Nail Educator, Leanne Brown. This is when my passion for nail art really took off because she gave me the best nails I'd ever had and even inspired me to take the career path that I have chosen. 

Currently, I am Owner/Artist of my own business @shaynaOesthetics. I compete in World-Wide Nail Competitions, and have been published for my awards in Scratch Magazine.  I competed at Nailympia Canada in 2019 and I won Winner of Winners & Top Canadian Nail Tech, along with 5 gold medals. I have also competed at Nailympia Online in 2021 and I placed 1st at the Avant-Garde Extravaganza Nail Art Competition in 2022. My next competition is in Orlando, Florida in June of 2023 and I can hardly wait! Lastly, I am writing my Journeyperson exam and looking forward to offering educational courses.

I know this is only the beginning but I am truly grateful for everyone who has inspired and supported me throughout my journey so far.
